All images created by Sam’s Photography LLC are protected under U.S. copyright law and remain the intellectual property of the photographer unless otherwise agreed in writing.

When you book a session, you are purchasing a usage license, not the copyright itself. This means you’re allowed to download, share, and personally use your images (such as printing, posting on social media, or sharing with family and friends), depending on your session agreement.

Any commercial use, resale, or third-party distribution requires written permission and proper licensing.

CAN I SHARE MY PHOTOS ONLINE?

Yes — absolutely. Clients are welcome to share their images on social media and personal platforms.

If posting online, credit is appreciated but not required unless your specific licensing agreement states otherwise. Images should not be altered in a way that misrepresents the work or used for commercial purposes without permission.

WHAT ABOUT COPYRIGHT & UNAUTHORIZED USE?

All photographs are automatically protected by copyright at the time of creation. This includes images delivered in galleries, downloads, previews, and proofs.

Unauthorized use includes things like:

• Using images for business or promotional purposes without a license

• Selling, redistributing, or publishing images without permission

• Removing watermarks or claiming the work as your own

If unauthorized use occurs, a request for removal or proper licensing may be issued to resolve the matter professionally. My goal is always to handle things respectfully and simply — most issues are resolved quickly through communication.

Personal sessions (portraits, family, etc.) are priced differently than commercial work (businesses, promotions, marketing), since commercial projects involve broader usage and rights.
